What is posterior capsule opacification?
Posterior capsule opacification (sometimes called “secondary cataract”) is a harmless clouding of the capsule that holds the artificial lens. The symptoms resemble cataract: blurred vision and sensitivity to light. New glasses do not help.
The treatment
- Dilating dropsDrops are put in your eye before the treatment begins.
- YAG laserThe laser makes a small opening in the cloudy capsule. You only see small flashes of light.
- Clear visionVision often improves the same day. You will be sensitive to light for a few hours.
The price of DKK 1,000 per eye includes the examination.
